How Fleeti digitises your inspections in four steps
Rollout causes no disruption. Drivers keep their phones, managers keep their dashboard, and maintenance moves to an automated flow. Four steps, usually rolled out in two to three weeks.
Three industries, three approaches to vehicle inspection
Digital inspections are rolled out differently depending on your industry. Here are three typical cases from Fleeti customers.
Every type of vehicle inspection on one platform
"Business vehicle inspection" means very different things depending on the industry. Fleeti covers the six main use cases seen among its customers, on a single platform with a single data set. You no longer need a different tool for each type of check.
Pre-trip inspection in line with road haulage practice: brakes, lights, tyres, coupling, fluid levels, safety equipment. Carried out by the driver at the start of every working day. Useful documentation for roadside checks.
Rental return condition report
Digital report when returning a leased or rented vehicle: bodywork, interior, tyres, accessories, mileage. Time-stamped photos as contractual evidence for the leasing company. Also useful for internal car sharing.
Cold chain quality check
Check of the refrigeration unit, door seals and temperature recorder. Compliant with HACCP rules for food transport and the EN 12830 standard for recorders.
Emergency vehicle safety round
Inspection tailored to ambulances, emergency vehicles and technical service vehicles: medical equipment, on-board tools, pharmaceutical supplies. Carried out at the start of each shift with supervisor sign-off.
Ad hoc or post-incident inspection
Inspection triggered on demand: after a minor collision, a suspected fault, a change of driver or a vehicle loan return. The driver starts it, takes photos and adds comments with no set form.
The regulatory framework for vehicle inspection in France
Digital vehicle inspection meets several French legal obligations. Four main frameworks apply, depending on the asset type and industry. None requires a digital format, but digital makes traceability much easier during an inspection.
Labour Code (machinery and equipment)
Articles R4323-22 to R4323-28. The employer must ensure that equipment provided is in good working order before each use. The burden of proof lies with the company. A time-stamped digital inspection is admissible evidence.
Statutory machinery inspections (VGP)
Decree of 1 March 2004 on inspections of lifting equipment and accessories, and decree of 5 March 1993 on self-propelled machinery. The VGP is mandatory and periodic. Fleeti presets checklists by machinery family and alerts you before the due date.
Road freight transport
Decree no. 99-752 and EU Regulation 2016/403. The driver must check the vehicle's condition before every trip. The truck pre-trip check meets this obligation and keeps the evidence for roadside checks.
GDPR and digital evidence
The General Data Protection Regulation and eIDAS on electronic signatures. Inspections collect driver and location data. Fleeti applies configurable retention periods, the right of access and the required purpose statements.
